Graduates of Canadian Colleges Outside of Ontario

Step 1: Qualifying Examination Initial Application

Individuals who wish to attempt the Qualifying Examination for the first time are required to create an online profile and complete the online QE Initial Application, including payment of any applicable fees.

Individuals who have a diploma in denture therapy or denturism from a Canadian College outside of Ontario must submit a request for academic program assessment with the QE Initial Application.   Upon receipt of this request, the Registration Committee examines the academic program to determine if it is fundamentally equivalent to the program of study undertaken by individuals who receive a diploma in denturism from George Brown College.

  • QE Online Initial Application

Please only complete this application once. You can return to your profile and update any information as necessary. Accidentally creating duplicate profiles will result in delays processing your application.

Required supporting documents to complete your Initial Application:

Scanned copies of the documents below (except for school transcripts) can be uploaded directly onto the online profile:

  1. One Notarized copy of a valid government issued identification:
    • Either a notarized copy of your Canadian Passport, Permanent Resident Card, Valid Work Permit, Driver's License, Ontario Photo ID Card, or Birth Certificate.
    • A notarized copy of your Canadian Passport, Permanent Resident Card, or Valid Work Permit is preferred as it will be required after you successfully pass the qualifying examinations and register for your license.
  2. Two Passport Photos taken within the last 12 months
  3. Official transcripts must be requested to be sent directly to the College from the academic institution. Transcripts uploaded by students to the online portal will not be considered official.
  4. Academic Assessment Form can be completed and uploaded onto the online portal.

Academic Equivalency Assessment

In addition to the QE Initial Application outlined above, the following documentation is required for an Academic Equivalency Assessment:

  1. Form A1 - Academic Assessment Form (instructions included)
  2. Official course descriptions/outlines/syllabi

The results of the academic assessment are provided in writing approximately 4-6 weeks after the date a complete application is submitted. Individuals whose academic programs are deemed equivalent are then eligible to sit the next Qualifying Examination. If the Registration Committee determines that the educational program of an individual is not equivalent to a diploma in denturism offered by George Brown College, the Committee will provide the individual with recommendations that, once completed, will assist in meeting academic equivalency.
