AllegationIt is alleged that Ms. Tran engaged in the following acts of professional misconduct as set out in Ontario Regulation 854/93, section 1:
a. She failed to maintain the standards of the profession (paragraph 2);
b. Allegation Withdrawn;
c. She failed to fulfill the terms of an agreement with a patient (paragraph 7);
d. Allegation Withdrawn; and/or
e. She engaged in conduct or performed an act, in the course of practicing denturism that, having regard to all the circumstances, would reasonably be regarded by members as dishonourable, unethical or unprofessional (paragraph 47).

Decision and ReasonsOn April 20, 2017, a panel of the Discipline Committee found that Ms. Tran engaged in the following acts of professional misconduct: 1. she failed to fulfill the terms of an agreement 2. she engaged in conduct or performed an act, relevant to the practice of denturism, that, having regard to all the circumstances, would reasonably be regarded by members as unprofessional. The panel made no findings with respect to the allegation that she failed to meet the standard of the profession.
Order: The Discipline Committee ordered the following sanctions: 1. Ms. Tran is required to appear before the panel to be reprimanded immediately following the hearing. 2. The Registrar is directed to suspend Ms. Tran’s certificate of registration for a period of two (2) weeks, to commence on a date selected by the Registrar. 3. The Registrar is directed to impose a term, condition and limitation on Ms. Tran’s certificate of registration requiring that Ms. Tran successfully complete, by December 31, 2017, to the satisfaction of the Registrar and at her own expense, the ProBE course in ethics. 4. Ms. Tran is required to pay the College’s costs fixed in the amount of $7,500
