The Discipline Committee finds Mr. Abdelrahman guilty of professional misconduct by: (1) Failing to maintain the standards of practice of the profession; (2) Making misrepresentations to a patient; (3) Acting outside the scope of his practice of denturism; (4) Falsifying a record of the examination or treatment of a patient; (5) Signing, issuing a document and submitting an account or charging for services that he knew or ought to have known was false or misleading; (6) Failing to take all reasonable steps to ensure that any information provided by him or on his behalf to the College was accurate; and (7) Engaging in a conduct relevant to the practice of denturism that would be reasonably regarded by members as disgraceful, dishonourable, unethical or unprofessional. As a result of its investigation of a complaint, the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee required Mohamed Abdelrahman to complete a Specified Continuing Education Remedial Program.

1. Complete a Specified Continuing Education and Remediation Program in accordance with section 26(1)(4) and section 26(3) of the Health Professions Procedural Code consisting of: a. Completing the College’s online jurisprudence module; and, b. writing a reflection piece of no more than 1000 words discussing what he has learned from the module and how it will affect his practise of denturism going forward. The reflection should focus on the meaning of public protection in the context of his profession and his financial and ethical obligations as a denturist. The written reflection is to be submitted to the Registrar within three (3) months of the date of this decision.
