Protecting The Public

Unregistered Denturists

It’s important for the public to be confident in the qualifications of the people providing their care. Only individuals who are registered members of the College of Denturists of Ontario (CDO) can practise denturism or use the title “Denturist” in Ontario.

Sometimes, an individual may pretend to be a Denturist and practise without being registered in Ontario. To use the title “Denturist” or to engage in the practice of denturism without being registered with the College is illegal.  Individuals who engage in this illegal practice can be prosecuted under the Denturism Act, 1991, the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991, the Criminal Code, and/or the Provincial Offences Act.

Employers and the public are strongly encouraged to use Find a Denturist to verify the membership status of every Denturist in Ontario.
