Standards of Practice

Standards of Practice outline the expected level of performance, for a particular element of practice, to which all Denturists are expected to adhere. Together, the Standards form a framework for ensuring the provision of safe and competent care.  These Standards are developed with input from all stakeholders, including members of the profession.  The profession uses Standards of Practice to evaluate their own performance and that of their peers.


At the 83rd Council meeting, Council moved to adopt the document CDO Standard of Practice: Record Keeping as the new Standard for the profession as of January 1, 2017 and to retire the policy Patient Record Keeping approved by Council on March 2, 2012. 

The College has, and will continue to provide as the need requires, on-line webinars that are designed to assist members of the profession with understanding the elements of the Standard of Practice:  Record Keeping.  In addition, the following tools can be used to assist members with an understanding of the requirements outlined in the Standard:
