Labour Mobility & As of Right
Denturists who are currently registered and in good standing with another Canadian Denturism regulator may apply for a Certificate of Registration (license) under the Labour Mobility Act, 2009. Labour Mobility applicants will benefit from an expedited registration process and will not need to undertake the qualifying examinations.
Certificates of Registration are not transferred between provinces. Denturists may maintain registration in multiple provinces or may choose to resign their registration after successful registration with the CDO.
Labour Mobility Application Requirements:
- Complete an online application including paying an application fee of $100.00 + HST = $113.00.
- Obtain a Criminal Records and Judicial Matters Check from your local or national police agency.
- Letter of Standing aka Letter of Professional Conduct from your current regulator addressed to the College of Denturists of Ontario.
- Notarized copy of proof of citizenship, permanent residency, or legal authority to work in Canada.
- e.g. notarized copy of Canadian passport, permanent residence card, valid work permit, or birth certificate.
- Once your application is approved, you will be required to pay a pro-rated registration fee.
- Please refer to Schedule 7 of the College By-Laws for the most up to date fee under the category "Fees Relating to Applications for Initial Registration for General Class".
The application above is for Denturists who are currently registered with another Canadian Denturism regulator and wish to apply for licensure at the CDO. Previous CDO registrants who are currently registered in another province seeking to return can also use this application.
Practising Under As of Right
As of Right legislation in Ontario aims to speed up the process for health care workers, including Denturists, registered in other Canadian jurisdictions to begin practising in Ontario while completing their registration with the College.
Under As of Right, Registered Denturists in another Canadian province can have up to six months from the start of their Labour Mobility application (or Certificate of Registration application) to practise in Ontario while completing their applications. They will be asked to sign an attestation form stating that they meet the requirements listed below and provide proof of active professional liability insurance for Ontario.

As of Right Facts
- The CDO does not oversee Denturists practising under As of Right, including processing complaints, until they are registered with the CDO. Any concerns or complaints should be sent to the regulator of the Denturist’s home jurisdiction. College staff can help complainants find the correct regulator.
- Denturists practising under As of Right will not appear on the CDO Public Register until they are registered with the CDO. To inquire about a Denturist’s practice history during this period, please contact the regulator of the Denturist’s home jurisdiction.
- The CDO can assist members of the Public or prospective employers in verifying the status of current As of Right applicants.
