Applying for a Certificate of Registration (COR)

Applicants for a COR must meet the following non-exemptible registration requirements:

  • Hold a diploma in Denturism from an accredited Canadian institution (see the Approved Denturism Programs Policyor have successfully completed a post-secondary program in Denturism or equivalent that is, in the opinion of the Registration Committee, substantially equivalent to an approved Denturism program
  • Successsful completion of the College's Qualifying Examination
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada, hold a valid work permit, or have authorization under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act 
  • NEW: Successful completion of the the Jurisprudence Examination no earlier than 12 months prior to the date of application for their COR.
    • The Jurispurdence Examination is an open-book examination found on the CDO Portal. It can be accessed at anytime and is offered free of charge with no limit on the amount of attempts.


Apply for a Certificate of Registration (COR)

To apply for a COR, log in to the CDO Portal to start the online application.


Assemble the required supporting documents, and upload using the CDO Portal:

  1. A copy of a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check provided from your local police department or RCMP detachment.
  2. A notarized copy of your Denturism diploma
    • For Internationally Educated applicants, the degree or diploma found within your third-party credentialling report (e.g. WES Report) is sufficient.
  3. notarized copy of proof of citizenship, permanent residency or legal authority to work in Canada (e.g. Canadian Passport or Birth Certificate, Permanent Resident Card, or valid Work Permit)
    • For applicants who have provided this document as part of their QE Initial Application, you are not required to re-submit.
  4. Language Proficiency Report (if applicable)
    • If you did not complete your relevant health care education and instruction in English or French, you are required to demonstrate language proficiency.
    • Important: Please review the Language Proficiency Requirements Policy for additional information, including which language reports are acceptable and the minimum score required.
  5. If you are currently, or have ever been, registered as a health care professional in Ontario or any other jurisdiction, please have the appropriate regulatory body submit a letter of standing (on official letterhead) directly to registration@denturists-cdo.com. This letter must include:
    • Your certificate of registration number, period of registration, class of registration, and number of practice hours reported in the preceding three (3) years; and
    • Any relevant information regarding your suitability to practice Denturism (e.g. conduct or disciplinary matters, unpaid fees, criminal or civil proceedings, terms, conditions or limitations on your COR, compliance with Quality Assurance programs, etc.) past, present or pending.


In instances where an applicant may not meet all of the registration requirements, the applicant will be referred by the Registrar to the Registration Committee for review. Applicants who have been referred to the Registration Committee will receive notice of the referral and will have an opportunity to provide additional submissions. Applicants will receive the Registration Committee's written decision within approximately 4-6 weeks.
