The College is aware that the matters are before the court and the College’s own investigation into these matters is on hold pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings.  The trial began February 10, 2020 and has been scheduled until February 28, 2020.  The trial is taking place at the Superior Court of Justice in Windsor, Ontario.  The College is following the trial closely and will provide pertinent updates should there be further concerns to public safety.

When the College became aware of the charges, it asked Mr. Mouamer to agree to the following terms, conditions, and limitations being placed on his Certificate of Registration.  Mr. Mouamer agreed on July 27, 2017:

5) Advise the College of the status of the criminal proceeding, including any changes to the terms of his release, dates for trial and other court appearances, and any resolution of the charge.

The College has been doing periodic and unannounced visits on Mr. Mouamer to ensure that the terms are being met. The College has been reassured of compliance with these terms at each visit.
