Legislation, Regs. & By-laws

Every health regulatory college has its own legal framework for governing the profession. That includes:

  • Legislation created by the provincial or federal governments, which has an impact on the practice of denturism in Ontario, and the role and authority of the College.
  • Regulations created by the College Council that all registered Denturists must follow. If Council determines a need for a regulation, it will develop a draft and circulate it to stakeholders. Council reviews all comments and incorporates the necessary changes into a final version. The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care must approve all regulations.
  • By-laws are created by Council (again in consultation with stakeholders) and relate to the administration and affairs of the College.
