Unregistered Practitioners

It’s important for the public to be confident in the qualifications of the people providing their care. Only individuals who hold a Certificate of Registration with the College of Denturists of Ontario (CDO) can legally practise denturism, use the title “Denturist” or the designation "DD" or "Registered Denturist".

Sometimes, an individual may pretend to be a Registered Denturist and practise without actually being registered in Ontario. To use the title “Denturist” or  designation "DD" or "Registered Denturist" or to engage in the practice of denturism without being registered with the College is illegal. Individuals who engage in this illegal practice can be prosecuted under the Denturism Act, 1991, the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991, the Criminal Code, and/or the Provincial Offences Act.

Members of the public and employers and the public are strongly encouraged to use Find a Denturist to verify the registration status of every Denturist in Ontario.
